I'm curious to hear from successful software engineers who didn't get their first developer role until at least their early 30s. Is a master's in software engineering worth it for someone with my background? Is it realistic to expect to find job opportunities as a software ... I think if you try to grow within your current company, it's possible. Finding another job as a SWE without titled experience or an engineering ... I am a 30 year old guy working as a Software Engineer at a very large tech company. I've been working in this field (also Data Science) for about 5 years. Also, being in a cushy job is great for a bit but you're still placenta-fresh into your career as a SWE. The fix could just be finding ... I don't see how it will cure your burnout. It might even have more because these operational roles often have on call rotations. People much older than you have done that. But you should not have a strict requirement of joining as a senior engineer as you are switching ... ... change career. I'd like to move to a role in IT or tech, something like software engineer or whatever kind of entry level role I can find. Maybe the job market will explode and we'll get back to that place, but if I am being honest, I imagine getting into software engineering is ...
